19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a challenging season, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has secured 21 victories at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my children at once, so to get a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on court had caused some to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an improved service.
He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour title, seized the initiative to create a decider.
The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
